Belinda Cambre is an Assistant Professor of Educational Leadership at the University of New Orleans and a governing board member of the Morris Jeff Community School, New Orleans’ most racially and economically diverse open-access charter school.  Belinda received her law and doctoral degrees from Louisiana State University and she is a member of the Louisiana Bar Association.  At UNO she teaches courses in school law and governance and is the coordinator of leadership certification programs.  Belinda is a member of the Education Law Association and is a contributing author to several of the organization’s publications.  She was recently recognized in Washington, D.C. as an emerging leader by Phi Delta Kappa International.  Her research interests and publications include the study of charter schools, state-level school reform mandates, and the capacity of the state for school reform.
