The Magic of Teachers and Fear

It annoys me when the mainstream media runs scary teacher stories. There are millions of teachers, but the press have an amazing ability to spot the few bad apples among them and use that as evidence that the entire system is corrupt.

So, I enjoyed this story dripping with satire from the Colbert Report last night.

Here is the real story.

Very amusing...and yes, satirical to the core.

The negative stories will continue to get the attention-parents, teachers or otherwise. Doesn't mean we shouldn't attempt to acknowledge, any chance we can, those parents and professionals who commit to outstanding things in our schools and communities. Write to your local media, school boards and admin leaders when you hear of something positive and inspiring happening at your schools! Most local media and school districts have an outlet to report "bright spots" or "District Pride" stories.

Great blog Justin...great resource for me as a parent advocate.
