Damn those Skittles

A kid in Connecticut was suspended and stripped of his title of class vice president ... for having a bag of Skittles in school. He has since been cleared (see him talk about it), but I wonder what that superintendent would have done to me ... I pass out skittles in my class, so all of my students would have bags of skittles.

This story is outrageous and shows how far some schools and schools have gone to control student behavior. If the school really wants to encourage their wellness program, they need to picket and try to discourage students from running to the local fast food restaurants. I wonder what "healthy" snacks and drink they are selling in the vending machines at that middle school and the local high schools. Oh well, at least they came to their senses and "fixed" the problem.

That is a good point about the snack machines. Hadn't thought of that, but it would be really ironic if they did sell candy type items in their lunch room.
