Janet Decker, J.D., Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor at Indiana University’s School of Education where she teaches education law and policy courses.  Her research and publications focus on legal issues related to special education, charter schools, and technology.  She has provided professional development to educators across the nation about student and employee internet speech and behavior.  In 2011, she was the recipient of the Joseph C. Beckham Dissertation of the Year Award from the Education Law Association. Dr. Decker previously worked at University of Cincinnati and Indiana University’s Center for Evaluation and Education Policy and Maurer School of Law. Prior to her legal studies, she taught at the Princeton Child Development Institute which provides Applied Behavior Analysis intervention to children and adults diagnosed with autism.
